Manazir Ashiq Harganvi asked Qazi Sahib for an article on Allama Iqbal for his magazine "Kohsar". Qazi Sahib could not give an article but spontaneously presented these couplets.
iqbāl kyā batā.ūñ ki kyā hai qalandarī
achchhā sā ik ḳhitāb ho achchhī sī naukrī
botal mai-e-farñg kī rakkhī ho sāmne
aur ho baġhal meñ us ke pilāne ko ik parī
aisī parī ho jis ko ho shauq-e-mubāsharat
ye sab nahīñ to hech hai aisī qalandarī
iqbaal kya bataun ki kya hai qalandari
achchha sa ek KHitab ho achchhi si naukri
botal mai-e-farng ki rakkhi ho samne
aur ho baghal mein us ke pilane ko ek pari
aisi pari ho jis ko ho shauq-e-mubasharat
