Jashn-e-Rekhta 2016


<p>The 2nd edition of Jashn-e-Rekhta, presented by the Rekhta Foundation, was a unique celebration of Urdu and its many-splendoured facets. After making its debut in 2015, the Jashn attracted over 15,000 Urdu lovers from across India and abroad. Over 60 poets, artists, novelists, litterateurs, journalists, lyricists from India and Pakistan participated in the festival and took the audience on a journey of exploration of Urdu and its various genres.</p><p>Held in the heart of New Delhi at the <strong>IGNCA [Indira Gandhi Centre for the Arts]</strong>, the hub of art and culture, the festival celebrated the quintessential spirit of Urdu, its inclusive ethos, creative richness and linguistic heritage. From<strong> 12th - 14th February 2016</strong>, some of Urdu’s finest poets, authors and artists came together to bring alive Urdu’s resonating eloquence through live performances, panel discussions and interactive sessions.
